"Dorsalgia" is the technical term for back pain, referring to the discomfort or pain in the area of the spine below the shoulders and above the ribs. Excess weight, improper lifting of heavy objects, prolonged periods in uncomfortable postures, muscle tension, sports and domestic injuries, disc herniations, and pinched nerves are some of the causes of this discomfort.
The chiropractic approach aims to provide corrective adjustments to all misaligned and/or immobile vertebrae, adjustments to the ribs, myofascial releases, and educating the patient on better postures for their work, daily activities, and leisure.
Chiropractor's tip: To relax the muscles in your back, cut and lie down on a pool noodle positioned longitudinally over your vertebrae for up to ten minutes.
